Vikram Pawah Appointed as President of BMW

BMW Group India has announced the appointment of Vikram Pawah as the President with effect from August 1, 2020. He has been with the German luxury automaker since 2017 when he had joined as President of BMW Group India. His present role is CEO of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand from 2018. Almost a couple of months back, BMW India faced two huge setbacks in the demise of its Marketing Head Mihir Dayal and CEO & President Rudratej 'Rudy' Singh. Both of them passed away in a span of 7 days and it left people in utter shock and disbelief.

Commenting on his appointment, Hendrik von Kuenheim, Senior Vice President, Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, BMW Group, said, “Under the leadership of Vikram Pawah, BMW Group has successfully stood ground in a fiercely competitive environment and gained significant momentum in both Indian and Australian luxury car markets." Mr. Arlindo Teixeira, Chief Financial Officer has been serving as acting President since the untimely demise of Rudratej Singh. But, from August 1, 2020, Vikram Pawah will take the additional role of President of BMW Group India besides his role of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand. For those asking, the company recently launched X6 SUV in the Indian market.

We are confident that his strategic thinking, hands-on approach and ability to drive people will navigate the organisation in these turbulent times.” BMW Motorrad India had launched the F900 R and F900 XR at prices of Rs 9.90 Lakhs and 10.50 Lakhs (Both the prices are Ex. Showroom, Delhi), respectively, on May 21, 2020 in the country. Recently, the X7 M50d was also launched at Rs 1.63 Crore (Ex. Showroom).
