Upcoming Honda Car Models

Honda cars is ready to roll out new products for the Indian market. The upcoming Honda cars in India include the HR-V and Honda City hybrid. The HR-V is expected to launch in India in the second half of 2021 while the City's hybrid version will be launched at a later stage. The company is also working on an all-new sub 4-meter SUV for the Indian market which will be based on Amaze's platform. It could be launched by the end of 2021 while being Honda's entry-level SUV in India.

Honda Discontinued Models

Honda cars has phased out a plethora of cars and SUVs in India since its entry in the country in 1995. Some of the most notable Honda cars discontinued are Honda Accord, Honda Brio, Honda Mobilio and Honda BR-V. The Accord was sold between 2000-2014 and then axed for a couple of years before bringing it back in 2016 to permanently take it off the Indian roads earlier this year. Honda Mobilio and Honda BR-V had four years stint each in India before they bid goodbye. Honda Brio was discontinued in 2019 after 8 long years in the domestic market.


Honda Cars are one of the most preferred cars by urban buyers in the Indian market. Being a wholly owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Co. Ltd., Japan and established in 1995, Honda Cars India set up its first manufacturing unit in India a couple of years later at an initial investment of more than Rs 450 Crores. Later in 2014, it inaugurated its second production facility in India at Tapukara near Alwar in Rajasthan. Honda started sales operations with City in India while its second vehicle to go on sale in the domestic market was Accord in 2000, followed by CR-V and Civic which were third and fourth with debuts in 2003 and 2006, respectively. Honda Cars is headquartered at Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh while it has three zonal offices in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
