Indian car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki launched the Popular Swift Hatchback in the year 2005. Since its inception only, the Maruti Suzuki Swift has been one of the best-selling cars in the country and has garnered a cult fan following amongst the mass market car buyers. In the year 2007, the famous Swift hatchback from the house of Maruti Suzuki received some changes that gave it a refreshed look. After that it got a much-needed facelift to cater to the growing demand in the Indian automotive market. It further increased the car’s sales numbers in the country.
In terms of the overall design, the company has not made many changes to the car. It still carries the same design; however, it has got a slightly redesigned bumper now. The fog lamp cluster has also got some tweaks and features a silver bezel around it. The Maruti Suzuki Swift is available in six trendy colours – Mysterious Violet, Pearl Arctic White, Silky Silver, Fire Red, Granite Grey and Glistening Grey.
The interiors have been given a refreshed look and feel. The Indian auto giant has equipped the cabin with a host of modern features and technologies. It now gets cruise control, keyless entry and a button start while the top-end variants come with features like climate control, faux leather seats, a music system with Bluetooth, AUX and iPod compatibility, ABS and airbags.
The Swift hatchback is powered by either a 1.2-litre petrol mill or a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine. While the motor generates a maximum power of 85 bhp and a peak torque of 114 Nm, the oil-burner produces 74 bhp of maximum power while churning out a peak torque of 190 Nm. Both the engines are coupled to a five-speed transmission. Offered at a starting price of Rs 4.76 lakhs, the Maruti Suzuki Swift is a smart choice for those who are looking for a decent hatchback at an affordable price.
