Buyer surety is an extended warranty given to the buyer of a used vehicle for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase. The total amount covered for two-wheelers and four-wheelers vary and depend on the category. The maximum claim (eligible) for two wheelers is 20 lacs, while for four-wheelers the maximum eligible claim is 50 lacs. - Vehicle should be less than 7 years old and should have run less than 1,00,000km
- Commercial vehicles are not eligible for buyer surety, only personal vehicles
- Warranty repair only at a dealer or an ITGI Authorized service center
- Not all makes and models for personal vehicles are eligible for warranty under buyer surety

When the user buys a used vehicle, which is eligible for buyer surety, he gets a button for ‘Get Free Warranty’ under his ‘Orders history’ section for his listing in ‘completed’ status. The button is only available for the first 15 days post the purchase of the vehicle, after which the user cannot apply for buyer surety. The user can fill the form which requires some mandatory inputs. Post form submission of the form, the details are sent to the vendor for processing who provides the policy document back in return.
The details required for applying for buyer surety are sensitive and are prone to human typing error. The user must ensure that he is entering the correct chassis number, registration number while filling the form, otherwise the policy will not be rejected from the vendor side.
The claim amount for the user’s vehicle is mentioned in the policy document and the maximum amount that can be claimed. The user then contacts the vendor regarding his claim which gets processed further.
