Jeep India, known to offer robust SUVs in India, has just released the special Jeep Wrangler Willys ‘41 Special Edition. This off-road SUV is a tribute to the original Willys MB from 1941, which is an iconic military vehicle that served in World War II.
This car has a limited production run of only 30 units for the Indian market, which makes it a rare collectible. The Willys variant is based on the standard Wrangler Rubicon and costs around Rs. 73.16 lacs (ex-showroom).
This car is a direct tribute to the Willys MB from 1941. The old Jeep was a lightweight, versatile "general purpose" vehicle for reconnaissance and liaison duties in the U.S. Army.
This Willys MB is widely considered the original Jeep car that started it all and established the brand's reputation for ruggedness and off-road capability. Exclusive "41 Green" paint on this SUV is reminiscent of the military olive drab used on the original Willys MB.
The price premium of Rs. 1.51 lacs over the already top-spec Wrangler Rubicon variant also signifies its uniqueness. The limited car units of 30 make this variant exclusive in India.

The "41 Green" military olive drab and the prominent and bold "1941" hood decal are immediately noticeable on this special edition variant. The overall look of the car feels utilitarian and rugged.
This retro-military and rugged-looking SUV gets a modern set of features and optional accessories. Other than the special color and decal. It also has powered side steps, removable doors and roof, LED lights, and fog lamps.
The cabin of this unique SUV gets all-weather floor mats, additional grab handles for both front and rear passengers, front and rear dash cameras, and the optional adventure pack.
The additional pack adds a Sunrider rooftop (a soft top that can be partially opened), a roof carrier, and a side ladder.
Both the Wrangler Willys ‘41 Special Edition and the standard Rubicon are powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 270 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Other core specifications of this special edition are also the same.
The key differences between the Willys ‘41 and the Rubicon are primarily in the design elements, a few added convenience features, and the limited units of the special edition.
