Maruti Suzuki has finally unveiled the Vitara Brezza facelift 2020 at the Auto Expo. It has been introduced in petrol fuel trim for the first time with a BS6 compliant engine while the existing diesel line-up has been discontinued. Maruti Vitara Brezza 2020 will continue to be sold via the Arena dealerships with bookings beginning from today. The SUV will rival Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Hyundai Venue in India. The company has introduced two new paint schemes for the SUV: Torque Blue and Sizzling Red.

The SUV has received substantial makeover in terms of styling as it is the first major facelift since its launch around four years back in 2016. The facelifted Vitara Brezza comes with dual-function LED DRLs, a redesigned front grille and larger fog lamps than the preceding model. The alloy wheel design has been updated too along with the revised bumpers at front and rear. The cabin comes with new upholstery while a plethora of new features have been offered in form of the latest SmartPlay infotainment system, cruise control, sunroof, and USB charging slot for rear seat occupants. The company has made dual airbags, ABS with EBD, high speed alert system, seatbelt reminder system as standard.

Under the hood, Vitara Brezza facelift has a BS6 compliant 1.5L 4-cylinder K16 petrol engine with top power of 103bhp and peak torque of 138Nm, which we have already seen in the Ciaz and Ertiga. The 1.3L 4-cylinder DDiS diesel engine has been discontinued as the company is not keen on upgrading it to BS6 to meet the emission norms. The SUV is offered with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard while the 4-speed automatic gearbox is available as optional. Maruti Suzuki has also equipped Brezza facelift with SHVS mild-hybrid technology to up the mileage. Maruti Suzuki has sold more than 5 Lakh units of the sub-compact SUV since its launch in 2016.
