BYD India has launched the Seal EV in the Indian market. The brand unveiled this electric sedan at Auto Expo 2023. The new Seal is the third all-electric offering from the company for India. Back in February, the EV maker started taking pre-bookings for the four-wheeler. The BYD Seal EV is available at a price of INR 41 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Dynamic model. The Seal Premium version is priced at INR 45.5 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Performance trim gets a price tag of INR 53 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are currently open for a token amount of INR 1.25 lakh.

The auto giant will offer the electric sedan in four color options: Cosmos Black, Artic Blue, Aurora White, and Atlantis Grey. The new model has already scored a five-star rating in the Euro NCAP and ANCAP crash tests. The Seal is the company's flagship model in the country, with an upmarket tech-loaded cabin, a stylish design, and a robust powertrain. The auto giant will be selling the electric sedan with two battery pack options: 61.44 kWh and 82.5 kWh. The 61.44 kWh battery pack will come with the Dynamic Range trim, while the 82.56 kWh battery set will be offered in two trims: Premium Range and Performance.

The BYD Seal EV gets boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, LED headlamps, and full-width LED taillights. The EV measures 4,800 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,460 mm in height. The four-wheeler features an aerodynamic body along with a drag coefficient of just 0.21 CD.

Inside the cabin, the new Seal comes loaded with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver's display, a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS features, and wireless charging.

The Seal Performance variant gets an all-wheel drive powertrain, whereas the Premium Range and Dynamic Range trims will come with a rear-wheel drive powertrain. The Dynamic Range churns out 201 bhp of power and 310 Nm of peak torque, whereas the Premium Range generates power of 308 bhp and 360 Nm of torque. The Performance variant, on the other hand, generates a combined output from both motors and puts out 522 bhp and 670 Nm. The Dynamic Range gets a certified range of 510 km, the Premium Range comes with a 650 km range, and lastly, the Performance variant has a range of 580 km.
