Suzuki has displayed the V-Strom 800DE at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. The manufacturer first unveiled the motorcycle at the Japan Mobility Show last year. Suzuki has been testing this adventure motorcycle on Indian roads. It is expected to launch the V-Strom 800DE in India later this year. The new bike is based on Suzuki’s new 800-cc platform. The V-Strom 800DE is a successor to the V-Strom 650XT motorcycle, which was sold in the Indian and global markets. The adventure tourer will give tough competition to the likes of the BMW F850 GS, Honda Transalp 750, and Triumph Tiger 900.

The 800DE motorcycle features a fully adjustable suspension at both ends, a TFT screen for the instrument cluster, spoke wheels, ride modes, twin-channel ABS, fuel injection, traction control system with four modes, low RPM assist, ride-by-wire throttle, Suzuki easy start system, and more. There is also a USB socket integrated into the motorcycle to charge mobile phones.

The V-Strom 800DE is powered by a new 776 cc, parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that churns out 83 bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 78 Nm. The gearbox equipped on the bike is a six-speed unit that has a bi-directional quickshifter. The manufacturer claims that the adventure tourer has a fuel efficiency of 22.7 km/h.

The V-Strom 800DE bike is expected to be retailed in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The motorcycle is likely to be priced around INR 10 to 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Suzuki is offering 21-inch wheels up front and 17-inch rear wheels, focusing on the bike’s off-road capabilities. The bike utilizes tube-type tyres and wire-spoke wheels.

The new motorcycle measures 2,345 mm in length, 1,310 mm in height, and 975 mm in width. It has a wheelbase of 1,570 mm and a ground clearance of 220 mm. The fuel tank has a capacity of 20 litres. The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE weighs 230 kg and it has a seat height of 855 mm.
