The leading two-wheeler giant Suzuki Motorcycle India introduced the new GSX-8R bike in the Indian market on October 4, 2024. The new GSX-8R bike is available at an ex-showroom price of INR 9.25 lakh. After the Suzuki GSX-8S and V-Strom 800, the GSX-8R bike is the company’s third product based on the 800-cc platform.
The two-wheeler giant showcased the GSX-8R middleweight supersport at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, and it was globally revealed at EICMA in 2023. In its lineup, the sportier GSX-8R motorcycle rivals the likes of the Honda CBR650R, Aprilia RS660, Kawasaki Ninja 650, and Triumph Daytona 660.
Suzuki GSX-8R Specifications
The Suzuki GSX-8R has a striking styling profile, which is further highlighted by vertically stacked headlamps that split the front cowl. The engine is well emphasized and shares similarities with the pattern of the GSX-8S. The motorcycle houses unique twin LED daytime running lights (DRLs) rearview mirrors, the same silhouette, a new tail light, and more.
On the feature front, the Suzuki GSX-8R is loaded with traction control, a dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), an easy start system, multiple ride modes, a 270-degree crank, ride-by-wire throttle, various riding modes, a 5-inch color TFT LCD multifunction instrument panel, and low RPM assist. For braking duties, the motorcycle receives twin 310 mm discs at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear. The Suzuki GSX-8R has a kerb weight of 205 kg and a fuel tank capacity of 14 liters.
The Suzuki GSX-8R is powered by a 776-cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, twin-cylinder engine. The unit is tuned to churn out power of 82 bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 78 Nm at 6,800 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which houses a bi-directional quickshifter. The suspension duties are handled by upside-down (USD) forks up front, and at the rear, the bike has a monoshock.
