Honda Updates Trims of WR-V SUV, Introduces New ‘V’ Trim in Line-Up

Honda WR-V Front Seats and Steering Wheel

Japanese automaker Honda has updated the WR-V sub-4-meter compact SUV line-up in the Indian market. The sub compact SUV from the brand will now come with and additional trim by the name of ‘V’. This new trim will be sold only with a diesel engine and will be placed between the existing S and VX trims of the WR-V. The price for the newly introduced trim of the Honda WR-V has been set at Rs. 9.95 lakhs, ex-showroom. This price puts the new trim of the WR-V just below the costliest VX trim of the sub compact SUV. The new trim comes loaded with features and aims to provide a lot of the top model features to the customers at a lower price point.

The price for the new V trim of the Honda WR-V is Rs. 40,000 less than the top VX trim and it comes with a lot of the features of the top model. Speaking of the safety features, the V trim comes with ABS+EBD, 2 airbags, reverse parking sensor+camera, speed alerts, and seat belt reminder among others. Among the other features on the new trim are fog lamps, alloy wheels, chromed door handles, black and silver interior trim, touchscreen infotainment unit with navigation, steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, automatic climate control, push button start, keyless entry, front centre armrest, tilt and telescopic steering and an electric sunroof.

The base S trim of WR-V has also been updated with new alloy wheels, automatic AC, speed sensing door locks, fog lamps, retractable key, speed reminder, passenger seatbelt reminder and one touch operation power window for driver. The top VX trim has been updated with leather steering wheel, speed sensing door lock, driver and passenger vanity mirrors, and the other regulation safety upgrades as per the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program (BNVSAP) norms.

Rajesh Goel the senior vice president and director of sales and marketing at Honda Cars India spoke on the occasion of the upgrade to trims of WR-V and stated,

Honda WRV, the premium Sporty Lifestyle Vehicle introduced in 2017, features the brand’s global DNA and has been well accepted by customers. We are extremely delighted to introduce the new V grade and enriched versions of S & VX grade for WRV. We are confident that the freshness added to WRV line-up will be appreciated by our customers.

Talking of Honda WR-V, it comes with the option of two engines, a 1.2L petrol engine rated to deliver 88 Bhp and 110 Nm and a 1.5L diesel engine rate to deliver 99 Bhp and 200 Nm. The petrol engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard and the diesel mill comes with a 6-speed manual as standard. However, the two engines also come with the option of a CVT automatic gearbox.
