The Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has recently listed the all-new Hypermotard 950 SP bike on its official Indian website. The Hypermotard 950 SP motorcycle is available at an ex-showroom price of INR 19.05 lakh (ex-showroom). It is around INR 3 lakh more expensive than the outgoing Hypermotard 950 RVE. Ducati is offering the new bike with various high-end amenities, a new paint scheme, and advanced features that set it apart from other models in the segment.
The 90 SP bike is the third model in the brand’s Hypermotard lineup after the RVE and the recently launched Mono 698 to launch in India. It arrives in the country as a fully imported CBU. The Hypermotard 950 SP is identical to the outgoing RVE except for its unique Marchesini wheel designs and SP graphics. It houses electronic rider aids such as slide-by brakes, cornering ABS, and wheelie control. The motorcycle has three riding modes: Touring, Urban, and Sport, and a quickshifter as a standard fitment.
The most notable upgrade in the 950 SP variant is its suspension setup, which includes an Ohlins monoshock with travel of 175 mm and 48 mm Ohlins USD forks with travel of 185 mm. The seat height has now increased by 20 mm, now measuring 890 mm. The new Hypermotard 950 SP variant rolls on Marchesini-forged alloy wheels, resulting in a 2 kg weight reduction. It comes equipped with Pirelli Supercorsa SP tyres. The motorcycle gets carbon fibre body panels, 17-inch wheels, new color options, and body graphics.
Powering the Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP is a 937-cc L-Twin Testastretta engine that churns out a power of 114 bhp and a peak torque of 96 Nm. The unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch. The Testastretta units are also incorporated into other Ducati models, including the Monster, Hypermotard, Supersport S, and DesertX. With a kerb weight of 191 kg, the new Hypermotard 950 SP weighs around 2 kg less than the 950 RVE.
