Amid the COVID'19 lockdown, many auto manufacturers are giving a price hike on their BS6 model range. TVS Motor Company recently increased the prices of the Apache RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 4V in India. The company launched the BS6 version of the RTR 160 4V and the RTR 200 4V in November 2019. It had earlier raised the price of BS6 RTR 160 4V by Rs 1000 in March 2020. Now again the 2020 Apache RTR 160 range gets a price hike of Rs 2000. While the 2020 RTR 200 gets a price hike of Rs 2500. BS6 RTR 160 4V is offered in two variants namely drum and disc.

In terms of design, the BS6 Apache RTR 160 4V comes with an aggressively styled streetfighter design. It gets an angular LED headlamp and a LED tail light. The motorcycle also features a double-cradle split Synchro-Stiff chassis with a pair of telescopic front forks and a monoshocks tuned by Showa. Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels, it gets single-channel ABS as standard across both the variants. It comes equipped with a host of features. These include a digital instrument cluster and Glide through traffic function, that helps the motorcycle to crawl without using the throttle, just by modulating the clutch.

While the BS6 RTR 200 4V gets a sharper face as compared to the outgoing model. It features a LED headlamp with LED DRLs and a tail light. It retains the design from its BS4 counterpart. The motorcycle continues to get a muscular and sculpted fuel tank, split seat setup and dual-barrel exhaust. It also features first-in-class GTT (Glide Through Traffic) technology for a smooth low speed ride. Other highlighted features include an LCD instrument cluster that has Bluetooth Connectivity as standard.

Under the frame, the 2020 Apache RTR is powered by a 159.7cc, single-cylinder, four-valve, oil-cooled engine that churns out 15.8 bhp of power and 14.12 Nm peak torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. While the 2020 Apache RTR 200 4V draws power from a new fuel-injected 197.75cc single-cylinder, four-valve, oil-cooled engine that comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. However, this unit gets TVS’s Race Tuned-Fuel Injection ‘RT-Fi’ Technology. The power output remains the same with 20.2 bhp as its BS4 counterpart. The peak torque has decreased to 16.8 Nm. The outgoing model had a peak torque of 18.1 Nm.
