Cosmetically, the 2022 Renault Kiger gets chrome garnish on the tailgate and a new front silver skid plate. The turbo-petrol variants feature a ‘Turbo’ decal over the door claddings and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with red wheel caps. Besides these, the updated model gets a new dual-tone mustard yellow with a black roof color option.
The cabin of the 2022 Kiger gets several feature enhancements. These include red accents on the dashboard and a new quilted pattern for the seats with red contrast stitching. Besides these, the updated model also features cruise control and wireless phone charging. Up till now, the wireless charging option was only offered as an option with the Smart+ pack. Moving on, Renault has also made a PM2.5 air filter standard across its entire range.
Performance-wise, the updated model remains unchanged. Having said that, it continues to draw power from a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0-litre, turbo-petrol engines. The former churns out a top power of 71 bhp and 96 Nm peak torque while being mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The latter generates 99 bhp power. Talking about torque output, the engine dishes out 160 Nm with a 5-speed manual and 152 Nm with a CVT automatic gearbox.
Renault launched the RXT(O) variant of Kiger last year to celebrate the brand’s 10th anniversary in India. Renault Kiger rivals the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and Toyota Urban Cruiser.
