TVS ‘Ronin’ likely name for next offering in India

TVS Motor Company has recently revealed that they will be introducing their next motorcyle by 2021. The bike is likely to be based on the 310 platform. This platformed is shared by BMW Motorrad’s G 310 range and TVS’s Apache RR 310. Recently, TVS Motor company has trademarked a new product name, “Ronin“. The trademark was filed earlier this year. The same nomenclature is expected to be introduced for their next motorcycle. However, the body type is still a big mystery. There are a lot of speculations of late. TVS is expected to come up with a cruiser motorcycle and an adventure bike too.

TVS ‘Ronin’ Data

According to a media report, the new model could be a naked version of the Apache RR 310 and can likely be positioned as a rival to Bajaj Dominar 400. Reports also suggest that TVS could be working on a new Cruiser model. It could be a production version of the TVS Zeppelin concept that was unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo. It was expected to hit the showroom by early 2020. But due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, it got delayed. The Zepplin is India’s first cruiser concept. It is powered by a 220 cc air-cooled engine, aided by an electric motor. A host of features were on offer. These included LED headlight, DRLs, petaled spoke alloy wheels, adjustable brake & clutch levers, keyless go, and HD camera.

Prior to lockdown, TVS launched the BS6-compliant Apache RR310 in the Indian market. The new 2020 model came with a host of significant updates including four-riding modes, TFT-colour display, and a more refined version of its BS6 engine. The motorcycle is powered by a 312.2cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder motor that churns out 33.5 bhp power and 27.3 Nm torque.
