Renault India has launched the Kwid RXL 1.0 at a starting price of Rs 4.16 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) in the country. The new RXL variant has also been introduced with the AMT gearbox at Rs 4.48 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). The new Renault Kwid RXL 1.0 variant has been launched to commemorate the 3.50 Lakh units sales milestone of the small hatchback. Having a localisation of 98 percent at the Renault-Nissan Alliance facility in Chennai, more than 45,300 units of the ‘Make In India’ Kwid have been exported from India to various global markets.
Renault Kwid AMT is the most accessible BS6 two-pedal offering in the Indian market. The French automaker had launched the Kwid facelift last year with first-in-segment LED DRLs. The front fascia is dominated by SUV-styled low mounted headlamps. Having a ground clearance of 184mm and boot capacity of 279 litres, it boasts of several sporty elements such as 14-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, skid plates and LED tail-lamp cluster. The cabin features include a 20.32 cm touchscreen 'MediaNAV' infotainment system, first-in-class LED digital instrument cluster, rear-view camera, floor console mounted AMT dial, one-touch lane change indicator, rear arm rest, and speed dependent volume control. Furthermore, reverse parking sensors come as standard safety feature across the entire Kwid range.
Renault Kwid AMT variants get Traffic assist as standard feature as it helps the hatch in moving forward during thick traffic while at the same time preventing it from rolling back. The BS6 hatchback is compliant with pedestrian safety while safety features include Anti-Lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (ABS with EBD), Driver airbag and Driver & Co Driver Seat belt reminder and speed alert across all variants. Mechanically, Renault Kwid is powered by 0.8L and 1.0L petrol engines with manual and AMT gearboxes. Renault has also introduced a ‘Buy Now Pay Later’ scheme where customers can buy a Renault car and start paying their EMI after 3 months of purchase.
