  • Quarter-litre Duke 250 starts arriving at dealerships

KTM Duke 250 received a BS6 update earlier this year. Now the bike is all set to get a fresh pair of LED headlights similar to the one present in KTM Duke 390. With this update, the price of the bike is likely to increase by at least Rs 10,000. Currently, the motorcycle is priced at Rs 2.04 lakh (ex-showroom). Recently, the KTM Duke 250 was spied and according to rumors the dealer dispatch of this particular two-wheeler have already begun. However, the launch date or time is yet to be determined.

Up until now, the Duke 250 featured halogen headlamps with LED DRLs. As per the spy images, the motorcycle gets an LED headlight that has been borrowed from its elder sibling KTM Duke 390. The headlamp setup is in line with KTM’s design language. Further, the headlamp unit gets a sharp and angular look. It has been aligned vertically. A thin plastic strip is seen separating two headlights. The entire Europe-spec Duke family including the entry-level 125cc model features the full-LED headlamp setup. Apart from this update, no other cosmetic change will be made. The bike continues to feature a digital odometer and a gear indicators among others. It will come in two color options namely Dark Galvano and Silver Metallic.

Under the frame, mechanically the engine remains the same as before. The bike continues to draw power from a 248.8cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 30 bhp power and 24 Nm torque. The powertrain is linked to a 6-speed gearbox via an assist and slipper clutch. In terms of brakes, the quarter-litre motorcycle continues to get a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear with the switchable Bosch dual-channel ABS. Suspension duties are taken care by WP upside front forks and WP rear mono-shock.
