Hyundai India has introduced an all-new E petrol variant of Verna at Rs 9.03 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The entry-level E variant is quite similar to the S variant of Verna. Also, Hyundai Verna E is Rs 36,000 cheaper than the Verna S. It will compete against the likes of Skoda Rapid, Toyota Yaris, Maruti Ciaz, and Honda City.
In terms of design, the new Verna E variant gets all the features present with the Verna S. The front fascia of the sedan flaunts a dark chrome radiator grille. In addition, it also gets LED headlights. At the sides, the sedan gets 15 Inch steel wheels with R 185/65 tyre and full wheel cover. The door handles get the metal finish. Other design highlights include body-coloured ORVMs, blacked-out B pillar, follow me headlight, and shark fin antenna.
On the inside, the Verna E trim comes equipped with a plethora of segment-first features. These include Bluelink connectivity, front ventilated seats, driver rear view mirror, electric sunroof, Steering Mounted Audio & Phone Controls, Adjustable Head Restraint Front Seat, Center Seat Armrest in Front & Rear and MID Display in the Instrument Cluster. The cabin boasts of dual-tone beige and black upholstery. Hyundai Verna E misses out on a few features such as a sunglass holder, USB charger in the front, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit.
The safety kit comprises of dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, immobilizer, seat belt pretensioner with load limiter, impact sensing auto door unlock, speed sensing auto door lock, Anti-theft alarm system, and tyre pressure monitoring system. Under the bonnet, the new Verna E petrol is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine that churns out a maximum power of 113 bhp and a peak torque of 144 Nm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
