The subcompact crossover SUV, Tata Nexon was revealed at the Auto Expo 2014 and in February 2016 it was presented for the first time. Nexon was Tata's first SUV of sub 4 - metre crossover SUV segment of India. It is based on the revised Tata X1 platform which was launched in 1998.
Tata in collaboration with Austrian engineering company AVL developed its engine. Nexon's petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder engine with turbo 12 valves which delivers a maximum power of 120 PS at 5500 RPM and maximum torque of 170 Nm at 1750 - 4000 RPM.
The diesel variant uses a 1.5-litre Revotorq four-cylinder engine with 16 valves which deliver a maximum power of 110 PS at 4000 RPM and maximum torque of 260 Nm at 1500 - 2750 RPM. It has got 5 out of stars in terms of crash tests by the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program). No Indian car has ever achieved this!

The bumper now has a larger intake along with a contrasting skid plate which complements the front look. There are not any such changes at the back. The cabin remains spacious as usual. In the interior, you will get a floating infotainment system which you can connect with your mobile phone.
The Nexon looks sturdy because of its fortified cabin which is made up of high strength steel. It can absorb the impact and force of an unfortunate collision to protect its passengers. A new alloy wheel design has been added.
You will be impressed by the sunroof provided. Some additional useful features include a fast charger, rain detecting wipers and cruise control.
