Though, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed its plans but the company is all set to launch a range of new cars and SUVs in India. To begin with, Kia Rio sedan will be launched in early 2021 in the country, followed by Kia Picanto, Kia Stinger and Kia Sportage. The Picanto is a small affordable hatchback while the Stinger is a high-performance sedan. Last but not the least, the Sportage is a premium SUV. Currently, Mr. Kookhyun Shim is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Managing Director (MD) of Kia Motors India. In addition, Manohar Bhat is appointed as the Head of Marketing & Sales, and Tae-Jin Park as the company's Executive Director (ED) and Chief Sales Officer (CSO). There are presently three boards of directors for the Indian division of Kia Motors: Sunggi Kim, Kookhyun Shim, and Woo Jeong Joo. Kia Motors is using Hyundai's research and development centre in Hyderabad for the time being, but it has plans to set up its own unit in future.
