The Czech carmaker, Skoda came to India in the year 2001 and established the Skoda Auto India Pvt Ltd which was later bought by the Volkswagen group. The company has established its manufacturing facility near Aurangabad in Maharashtra that has a manufacturing capacity of 89,000 vehicles annually.
As of now, there are 83 Skoda Car dealers that are spread in across 70 cities in India. The Skoda Octavia was the first car that was the first car to be built in the year 2002. The car was an instant hit among the Indian customers as the car had a good built quality, responsive handling and have decent mileage of 13- 18kmpl.
