Mahindra Scorpio is among the most successful SUVs in the Indian market. Ever since the initial launch, the model has gone on from strength to strength making its position stronger in the Indian SUV segment. The compact SUV keeps getting regular updates promptly with the latest one coming in the year 2015. Soon after the new-gen Scorpio received the upgrade, the model got a mid-life update as well with slightly tweaked cosmetic coupled with new seating configuration. Extensive changes have also seen the manufacturer shift the even alpha-numeric moniker to odd alpha-numeric one. Mahindra Scorpio is among the best-selling SUVs in the country, and that has been the case for some time now.

On the outside, the Mahindra Scorpio gets a revised fascia with an updated grille. The changes on the front end have been incorporated after a long time. Furthermore, the Scorpio has such a bold persona from the front angle that the manufacturer does not need to introduce extensive changes at the front. Among the noticeable changes, headlamps and taillights get the new lighting. Adding to the tweaks, the redesigned alloy wheels along with mounted ORVMs and fog lamps have fine chrome detailing. An interesting addition includes the new air extractors and new lower and upper grille mesh design.
On the inside, the Mahindra Scorpio includes the leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear lever. Adding to the convenience, mobile holder slot and big holes have been added to keep the belongings. Reverse parking camera and dynamic assist are some key features that have been integrated into the model. Other standard features include one-touch lane change indicator, steering mounted audio and cruise control, Driver information system, all-window roll-up, Bluetooth and other multimedia connectivity, cushion suspension and anti-roll technology for the 4WD system. Talking about the performance addition, the premium SUV gets Intellipark, rain and light sensors, Tyre-Tronics, gear shift indicator, micro-hybrid technology and voice assistance.
Under the hood, the Mahindra Scorpio has two engine options. First is the 2.5-litre engine and the second is the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. An important point to note here is that the first engine option is only available in the S3 variant whereas the latter is applicable for all the other variants. The engine description bolsters as per the variant – S3 variant is tuned to 75bhp whereas S5 and S7 are tuned to 120bhp and 280Nm while the S7 and the S11 variant is tuned to 140bhp and 320Nm. The top trim is mated to a six-speed manual transmission whereas the others are mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
