Indian is an American motorcycle brand; the company was started in the year 1901 in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. Originally the company was named as Hendee manufacturing company, and the motorcycle was sold under the same brand name until it was changed to Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company in 1928. It was one of the companies that survived the Great Depression of 1933.
Indian is one of the prime competitors of Harley Davidson as both the brand share the same interests – ‘Cruiser bikes’. Indian Chief Dark Horse: The Indian Chief Dark Horse is another addition to the portfolio of the Indian motorcycles in India. Just like the Indian Vintage, Springfield is also a bagger bike with quick release windshields that make it ideal for long distance rides. Just like the other Indian motorcycles, the Springfield is loaded with gadgets such as remote locking hard bags and adjustable passenger floorboards, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic cruise control and dual driving lights. The bike runs on the Thunder Stroke 111 V-Twin engine that generates a maximum torque of 137Nm at 2600rpm.
