Hyundai Elite i20 is one of the first premium hatchbacks to debut in the Indian market. The Korean manufacturer’s i-series has been a tremendous hit since its introduction, and Elite i20 is no stranger to that feat. The all-new i20 was launched in the year 2013 with the model getting a European influence on its fluidic design. The upgraded version came with regular updates including DRLs, projector headlamps and touchscreen system. Most of the Hyundai car models now come with a Fluidic v2.0 design which gives all the car models a fresh approach regarding style and performance. Elite i20 is among the newer generations, and continuous updates have helped the model to move up the ladder regarding the premium appeal. The forward leaning stance and flared wheel arches contribute to the overall sporty look of the car.

As for the exterior, the Hyundai Elite i20 gets a wide but compact fascia with mesh design. The hexagonal grille is the main element in the fascia which gets attractive chrome treatments. The Hyundai Elite i20 has swept back design which adds to the sporty look of the car. On the rear end, the car gets wraparound tail lamps with a huge Hyundai logo sitting in the centre. The B-pillar and C-pillar integration gives the model an impression of floating roofline. The side profile of Hyundai Elite i20 is quite attractive thanks to the silver door handles, strong shoulder line and softly flared wheel arches.
On the inside, the Hyundai Elite i20 is feature-laden which is quite common in Hyundai cars these days. The cabin of Elite i20 is quite roomier than before with redesigned dashboard in beige and black colour combination. Elite i20 gets all the features from the old car plus some considerable addition such as the lane change indicator, steering parking assist, rear air-con vents and in-built service reminder. Other standard features include climate control system, 2-DIN touchscreen audio system, gear shift indicator, reverse parking assist to name a few. The top variant Asta also gets a rear wash and wipe, automatic headlights, clutch lock and a second power outlet.
Under the hood, Hyundai Elite i20 comes with a four-cylinder 1.2-litre Kappa engine which churns out 83bhp and 113Nm of torque mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. With the recent update, the model comes with a 1.4-litre petrol engine as well mated to a five-speed torque converter gearbox. The most in-demand engine is that of 1.4-litre CRDi one who churns out 89bhp and generates 219Nm of torque.
Hyundai Elite i20 is available in 13 variants – 6 Diesel variants and 7 Petrol variants. The diesel variants include 1.4 ERA, 1.4 MAGNA EXECUTIVE, 1.4 SPORTZ, 1.4 ASTA, 1.4 ASTA DUAL TONE, 1.4 ASTA OPTION. The petrol variants include 1.2 ERA, 1.2 MAGNA EXECUTIVE, 1.2 SPORTZ, 1.2 ASTA, 1.2 ASTA DUAL TONE, 1.2 ASTA OPTION and 1.4 MAGNA AT.
As for the Hyundai Elite i20 on road price, the entry-level variant is priced at INR 5.3 lakh considering price after GST whereas the top trim is priced at INR 9.12 lakh considering price after GST. Hyundai Elite i20 price and specifications make it a direct competitor of Honda Jazz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Volkswagen Polo in the premium B+ hatchback segment.
