Sony Honda Mobility showcased an updated prototype of the Afeela electric sedan at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024. The joint venture between Sony and Honda started in 2022, and they unveiled their first car at CES 2023. The prototype showcases an updated design that previews the outgoing model. The Afeela electric sedan first debuted as the Sony Vision-S concept in 2020, and it has witnessed various design updates since its arrival. The sedan will hit production in 2025.

Sony held a press conference at CES 2024, and it featured several news items and updates. The company also revealed the Afeela electric concept, which it is developing in collaboration with Honda. The electric sedan will get an updated front bumper and a protruding nose, along with a digital display. The sleek headlamps sit under a lighted strip on either side of the digital display. The prototype gets conventional side mirrors and thicker pillars. It is anticipated that the taillights and rear bumper will also be updated. The manufacturer has also updated the dimensions of the electric sedan. It is now bigger in size and measures 4,915 mm in length, 1,460 mm in height, and 1,900 mm in width. It has a longer wheelbase of 3,000 mm, which makes it 20 mm longer than the previous model.

Inside the cabin, the EV remains the same as the previous concept. However, it does get a new centre console along with a double wireless smartphone charger. The car comes with a revised steering wheel and an all-new rearview mirror.

The Afeela electric sedan is powered by two electric motors that are mated to an all-wheel-drive system. The electric motors come with front and rear axles, and they supply power to all four wheels. The motors can churn out 241 bhp of peak power, which means that the sedan should produce a combined output of 482 bhp. The e-motors draw power from a 91-kWh lithium-ion battery set. Sony and Honda are expected to launch the sedan in 2026.
