News Highlights

  • The van gets a yoke-shaped steering wheel, which acts as a hub for all drive-related controls.
  • The front section gets two seats that are divided by a floating console in the centre.

Honda has unveiled the Space-Hub electric van at the ongoing CES electronic trade show. The Space-Hub van is the second electric concept from Honda under the new ‘0’ Series EVs. The concept is likely to be designed under the same architecture as the 0 Series Saloon. Honda has designed the all-electric Space-Hub van to enhance the sitting experience for rear passengers.

The fascia of the concept van gets the same digital panel as the saloon at the front. It also comes with concentric light rings, and the edges add a 3D effect. There is a new illuminated Honda ‘H’ badge sitting in the centre. The dual-stacked headlights are fixed into the grille. The windshield appears from the grille's upper edge and flows into a panoramic glass roof that covers the passenger cell. On the sides, the prototype features a slab-sided appearance, along with the soft flares above the wheel arches deviating from the overall design. The rear doors open and slide in a standard van manner.

Inside the cabin, the front part gets two seats that are divided by a floating console in the centre. The steering gets a yoke shape design, and the driver can manage all the drive-related functions via the steering. The absence of pedals in the van implies that the steering manages the brake and accelerator functions as well. There are the touch-sensitive buttons on the lower edge serving as the gear selector. The van gets a dashboard that displays all important car and infotainment information to the occupants. The Space-Hub van comes with seating for four passengers. The seats are arranged in pairs, with one in the rear area and the other behind the driver and co-driver, facing the back.

Honda has not shared any powertrain details for the prototype. The automaker has also not confirmed the future production model of the van.
