Kia India has released a new teaser for the forthcoming Sonet Facelift. The automaker has announced that the facelifted variant of the Sonet will be unveiled globally on December 14, 2023. The brand is expected to commence bookings for the SUV on the day of its launch, but the pricing details are likely to be shared in January 2024.

The recently released teaser of the compact SUV unveils its upgraded front fascia. The Sonet will come with a new pair of LED headlights with redesigned C-shaped LED daytime running lamps that can be stretched vertically as well. The design language is like the outgoing Seltos facelift. The lower version of the facelift will not come with LEDs; instead, it will incorporate a set of halogen headlamps. The Sonet gets an updated Kia Tiger-nose grille and a new aggressive bumper. Also, the LED fog lamps are now placed horizontally, and they are sleeker as well.

The SUV comes with a new pair of alloy wheels. To add a little bit of ruggedness to the design of the compact SUV will get plastic cladding. The rear design of the facelift will undergo major changes, including a new pair of tail lamps connected via a lightbar. For now, it is not known whether the light bar will glow or if it will only be there as a reflector. The Sonet facelift retains the tail lamps from the new Seltos model.

The new teaser also gives a glimpse of the facelift’s interior. The manufacturer has not made any significant changes to the cabin of the compact SUV. It will offer new trim pieces and upholstery options. The crossover will come with a new Bose sound system, a large touchscreen infotainment system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a new semi-digital instrument cluster.

Under the hood, the updated Sonet will be like the outgoing model. It will be powered by the same 1.0-litre turbo-petrol, 1.2-litre petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The transmission options include 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, 6-speed manual, 5-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, and 6-speed automatic.
