Flaunting a tallboy design like Maruti Wagon R, it was also showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo last year. The Soul was firstly launched in 2008 with a petrol engine. Six years later in 2014, the company introduced the electric version of the SUV. However, it is not known yet whether India will receive the petrol version or electric version.

As for the global-spec Kia Soul, it flaunts a massive trapezoidal front grille and stacked LED headlamps with integrated DRLs. Some of the other exterior features include 18-inch alloy wheels, boomerang-shaped LED tail lamp cluster and twin exhaust pipes. Inside the cabin, it gets a plethora of premium features in the form of Wireless charging, Heated front seats, Automatic AC, Ambient lighting, Leather-wrapped, heated and multi-functional steering wheel, Electric sunroof, Head-up-display (HUD) and 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The safety features onboard are 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), and tire pressure monitoring system.

Internationally, Kia Soul is sold with three petrol engines. It is available with a naturally aspirated 1.6L motor which churns out 121 bhp and 150Nm while linked to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. There is also a turbocharged version of the 1.6L petrol motor which develops 198 bhp with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. Last but not the least, it can also be availed with a naturally aspirated 2.0L engine which returns a power output of 145 bhp with a 6-speed manual and CVT automatic unit. Kia Soul electric is powered by a 64 kWh battery which belts out 198 bhp while having a driving range of 452 kms on a single charge. Presently, the South Korean automaker retails three models in the Indian market namely Seltos, Carnival and Sonet.
