Hyundai has issued a recall for the iVT variants of the pre-facelift Creta in India. The brand also issued a recall for the Verna sedan a few days ago over a possible issue with the EOP controller. The iVT variants of the Creta mid-size SUV have also been recalled because of the same issue. Currently, the brand is reaching out to each owner of the impacted vehicles individually. With this move, Hyundai has shown its dedication to safeguarding its customers. The company will inspect and repair the cars at its authorized service centers free of charge.

The company has not revealed any details regarding the number of variants that have been affected by the recall or the manufacturing date of the affected vehicles. Customers are advised to contact their nearest authorized Hyundai service station to check if their car is affected by the recall. Apart from Hyundai, other automakers have also been issuing recalls for their selected models. Kia also issued a recall for 4,000 Seltos units last month due to the same issue.

Recently, Hyundai announced a recall for 7,698 units of the Verna sedan in the country. The recall includes the trims that are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine along with the CVT automatic. These affected units were produced between February 13, 2023, and June 6, 2023.

Apart from the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, both the Hyundai Creta and Verna also come equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol powertrain. On the other hand, the Creta SUV also has the option of a 1.5-litre diesel engine. A 6-speed torque converter automatic, a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic), and a 6-speed MT are the available transmission options for these engines.
