Yamaha Motor India has recalled over 3 lakh units of its 125cc hybrid scooters, the Fascino 125 Fi and Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrids. The manufacturer had to issue a voluntary recall due to faulty brake parts integrated into these scooters. The Fascino 125 Fi and Ray ZR 125 Fi hybrids were constructed between January 1, 2022, and January 4, 2024. The Japanese two-wheeler maker is going to bear the repair costs and make these models roadworthy again. According to reports, the front brake lever on these models may not be working properly.
This is the biggest recall from India Yamaha Motor (IYM) in the country. The company released a statement saying that the recall is necessary and will be in effect immediately. Yamaha will replace the defective brake parts free of charge. The two-wheeler maker has asked its customers to verify their eligibility for the recall by paying a visit to their nearby Yamaha service centre. Scooter owners can also register on the official website of the company by using the chassis number of their scooter.

Yamaha sells the Ray ZS 125 in India in two trims: Disc and Drum. The Ray ZS Drum variant is priced at INR 73,330, whereas the Disc brake trim comes at a price of INR 76,330. The Fascino 125 is also available in two variants: Disc and Drum. The Disc trim costs INR 74,530, while the Drum is offered at INR 72,030. All prices are ex-showroom.
Recently, the auto giant rolled out the new FZ-X bike with new color schemes. The FZ-X Chrome trim is priced at INR 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it INR 3,500 more expensive than the Yamaha Matte Copper color. The new Chrome colored trim is INR 2,500 more expensive than the Matte Titan and Dark Matte Blue colors. Additionally, the newly launched FZ-X Metallic Black is offered at a price of INR 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom).
