India is the world’s largest two-wheeler market. Here people have the freedom to choose from a variety of motorcycles. With 2020 now behind us, there is plenty to look forward to specifically in terms of motorcycles. In this context, we have listed the top 5 bikes that have been launched in the country till date in this new year 2021. 

BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500

Benelli India launched the BS6 version of Leoncino 500 in the price range of Rs 4.60 lakh - Rs 4.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Cosmetically, the motorcycle is inspired by the ‘Lion Club’ models of the 60s. There is a signature ornament - the Lion of Pisaro placed on the front fender. The bike has not received any such cosmetic upgrades. It continues to offer an all-LED headlamp, LED turn-indicators, and LED tail-lamp. Mechanically, the BS6 Leoncino 500 draws its power from a 500cc, DOHC, twin-cylinder four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Honda CB350 RS

Honda 2-Wheelers India finally launched the CB350 RS at Rs 1.96 lakhs (ex-showroom). This new motorcycle is an off-road-oriented version of the H’ness CB350. The motorcycle gets an all-black treatment instead of chrome as seen in the H’ness CB350. It gets an aggressive look due to a round-shaped LED headlamp with a unique ring design, under-seat sleek LED tail lamp, skid plates, wide pattern tyres, and sporty-looking grab rails. Feature-wise, the CB350 RS gets an advanced digital-analogue meter, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), hazard switch, assist & slipper clutch, and engine start/stop switch. Mechanically, it is powered by a 350cc, air-cooled 4-stroke DOHC single-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan

Chennai-based retro motorcycle brand Royal Enfield launched the new Himalayan at Rs 2.01 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The motorcycle has been introduced in three new color options - Pine Green, Mirage Silver, and Granite Black (mix of matte and gloss). Besides these, the company is offering the Make It Yours (MiY) personalization program with the bike. This initiative covers a host of accessories like aluminium panniers, touring mirror kits, handlebar brace & pad, and mounting kits. The new touring motorcycle further features a tripper navigation unit, comfortable seat for long rides, a new front rack, and a new windscreen, among many others. The rear carrier gets an additional plate to secure the luggage.

Triumph Tiger 850 Sport

Triumph Motorcycles India launched the much-awaited Tiger 850 Sport at a sticker price of Rs 11.95 lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country. The motorcycle sits on a modular frame with a bolt-on aluminum rear sub-frame and bolts on pillion hangers. It further comes with advanced features like Brembo Stylema brakes, an adjustable screen, and a high-quality Marzocchi suspension. Other features include a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, a 12V power socket, all LED lighting, and switchable traction control. Performance-wise, it is powered by an 888cc liquid-cooled inline 3-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox alongside a slip and assist clutch.

Yamaha FZ Range

Yamaha India launched the 2021 FZ Series in the country recently. Talking about the price, the FZ FI stands at Rs 1.03 lakh while the FZS FI is retailed at Rs 1.07 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Feature-wise, the FZ duo gets an LED headlight, two-level single-piece seating, wider rear radial tyre and Yamaha's Connect X Bluetooth technology, among many others. Yamaha has further introduced a new feature -  Side Stand Engine Cutoff Switch across its entire FZ range. Mechanically, both bikes continue to draw power from a BS6 compliant 149cc fuel-injected engine. Also, both bikes are lighter by 2 kgs than their predecessors.
