News Highlights

  • The Black Edition duo will get all-black treatment at the outside
  • They will also come with a cabin finished in black upholstery
  • There will be no mechanical changes at all to both the cars

Tata Motors is all set to launch the Dark Editions of Nexon and Altroz in the Indian market. The dealer dispatch for both the Dark Edition models has started and a few units were spotted at the dealership yard in Pune. Tata Nexon Dark Edition and Tata Altroz Dark Edition could be launched in the coming days in India with updates identical to the Harrier Dark Edition which was launched sometime back. Mechanically, both the Tata Nexon and Altroz remain the same as their respective standard models with no updates at all.

Going by the spotted images, Tata Nexon Dark Edition and Tata Altroz Dark Edition take a lot of styling cues from the Harrier Dark Edition. The duo features an all-black treatment with several elements such as front grille, alloy wheels, bumpers and fog lamps finished in black color. It boasts of matte black badges and 'Dark' lettering on the front fenders with chrome treatment. The cabin gets a black upholstery while the dashboard is also offered in black trim. Tata Harrier Dark Edition was launched in multiple variants, so we can expect at least a couple of variants of both the Altroz and Nexon. They could be based on the XT and XZ trim levels with both manual and auto gearbox options.

Under the bonnet, Tata Nexon Dark Edition will come with the same 1.5L petrol and diesel engines. On the other hand, Tata Altroz Dark Edition will be available with the same 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. It is still not known whether the Tata Altroz turbo petrol will receive a 'Dark Edition' or not. The Dark Edition of Tata Harrier was priced approx Rs 20,000 more than the regular trims it was based on and on similar lines, we can expect the Nexon Dark Edition and Altroz Dark Edition to be nearly Rs 15,000 pricier than the standard variants on which it is based on. It is being believed that more details will emerge regarding the Dark Edition duo in coming days.
