The United Kingdom-based multi-brand motorcycle dealer Cooperb Motorcycles introduced its modified Royal Enfield Himalayan recently. The modified bikes from Northampton based dealership came at the same time as the BS6 compliant Himalayan arrived in the Indian market. Cooperb Motorcycles have given it the name “Ovalanda Edition”, the modifications are very interesting. Key highlights are extra engine protection, side panniers and higher ground clearance. Customized seats are a big plus where the owner can opt for either taller, wider, narrower or shorter as per their requirements. To make it more comfortable for the rider, designers have placed a gel pad for a comfort filled ride for long distances.

Bikes are all about enjoyable riding experiences and Ovalanda Edition comes with two footrest options: Ful billet-Alumium and bolt-on plates. Touring bikes needs to be sturdy and rugged, the Ovalanda comes out with flying colours in this department. Alloy handlebars of the same bend as the original Himalayan motorcycle are there on this modified version.  Other features added to it are tubeless tyres, USB charger, Smartphone holder, 35W bulb, lockable toolbox among others. The customized bike comes with a Lextek exhaust system. Performance-wise, there are no changes in the engine department. The Ovalanda Edition will be equipped with BS6 Himalayan 411cc air/oil-cooled SOHC single-cylinder motor producing 24 bhp of maximum power output with 32Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The modified motorcycle will costs around  £7,999. In Indian currency based on the current foreign exchange rates, it comes to around Rs 7,53,786. BS6 Himalayan is currently sold in India with the introductory price of Rs 1.89 lakhs (ex-showroom).
