Hyundai and LG Electronics have formed a partnership to give the future Genesis models of Hyundai LG’s infotainment system. LG will now supply its Automotive Content Platform to Hyundai. LG invited Hyundai Motor Group and YouTube to a ceremony in Los Angeles, United States, to introduce WebOS for automotive. This infotainment system is powered by WebOS for Automotive. 

With the aid of the in-vehicle infotainment system, passengers sitting in both the rear and front seats can now watch smart TV content that they mostly watch on their TVs or smartphones, in accordance with safety and driving regulations.

The Genesis models will come equipped with an infotainment system that utilizes WebOS for Automotive to give amazing sound quality. Customers can now enjoy a variety of TV content in their vehicle with LG’s WebOS. With over 200 million cumulative sales in the smart TV market, LG is now all set to tailor a vehicle-amicable version. In an advanced in-car setting, passengers will get to watch a variety of OTT services and YouTube with WebOS for automotive.

The president of LG Vehicle (Component Solutions Company), Mr. Eun Seok-hyun, stated that “LG remains committed to unveiling the most advanced vehicle solutions, incorporating WebOS for automotive, as we strive to enhance the customer experience for drivers and passengers while also accommodating the diverse demands of car manufacturers.”

With this partnership, LG will now reach more customers by extending its reach and services to the road. To make LG’s automotive OTT platform more successful, this project will extend further. To deliver a splendid in-vehicle viewing experience, YouTube, LG, and Hyundai will team up and include YouTube’s native TV apps in WebOS for Automotive. Inside the car, the YouTube app will use highly advanced native touch solutions on WebOS.
