Hyundai has received one lakh bookings for its new Exter SUV. The vehicle has proven to be a big hit for the Korean company in the Indian market. Hyundai launched this new SUV in July, and in just four months, it has received one lakh bookings for the Exter. One of the key factors behind this success is Hyundai’s confident aim of achieving over six lax sales in the Indian market in 2023.

Hyundai completes its 27-year journey in India. The company first gained popularity with its popular models like the i10 and Santro, but now it has deviated towards sports utility vehicles due to the ever-increased demand for SUVs in the domestic market. The Exter SUV is said to be the most affordable SUV in India. This SUV mainly targets customers who are buying their first car in the country. It is available with styling features such as H-shaped LED daytime running lights and square headlights, with large intakes on the front bumper.

There are various reasons why this SUV is getting so many bookings in such a short span of time. At the time of launch, the Hyundai Exter came at an introductory price of INR 6 lakh, and the top-end version was priced at INR 10.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The design and price of this new SUV managed to attract many customers in the country. Also, it is available in seven versions, providing various options for potential customers to choose from according to their preferences.

The upper versions of the Exter SUV come with upgraded features such as a double-view dash camera, six airbags, a wireless charger, and a smart electronic sunroof. Powering the new SUV is a 1.2-litre petrol motor that churns out 82 hp and 95 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The Exter gets a claimed mileage of 19.2 kmpl, while a CNG option is also available for this SUV.

Hyundai is offering the Exter at a similar entry-level price as the Grand i10 NIOS. Both of these models attract customers searching for stylish design elements. Hyundai is experiencing sales growth in the India market due to all its models, and Exter is further aiding the company to fulfill its aim of completing six lakh sales in 2023.
