In a bid to make a grand comeback in the Indian automotive market, Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) Motorcycles, an iconic British bike maker, has rolled out the Gold Star 650 motorcycle at a starting price of INR 3 lakh (ex-showroom). In 2021, the iconic British company was revived globally. The BSA Gold Star 650 range has been available in Europe and the UK since 2021. The brand is owned by Classic Legends Private Limited, an Indian manufacturer and a subsidiary of Mahindra Group.

The BSA Gold Star 650 is a new modern-retro bike that is locally manufactured in India. It pays tribute to the iconic Gold Star 650, which is currently available in several markets. The motorcycle directly rivals the likes of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Interested buyers can reserve the new bike by paying a visit to their nearest Classic Legends’ authorized dealerships, or they can also book the new BSA model through the BSA’s official website. 

The BSA Gold Star 650 India is being offered in six different color options:

Highland Green            Insignia Red 

Midnight Black              Dawn Silver

Shadow Black              Legacy Edition: Sheen Silver 

The Gold Star 650 price in India for Insignia Red and Highland Green color shades starts at INR 3 lakh (ex-showroom), whereas the Midnight Black and Dawn Silver colors are priced at INR 3.12 lakh (ex-showroom). On the contrary, the Shadow Black color option comes at an ex-showroom price of INR 3.15 lakh.

In terms of design, the BSA Gold Star 650 India is loaded with a range of modern-classic design elements, including a circular headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and curved fenders. The bike also features a wide single-piece handlebar, wire-spoked wheels, a one-piece seat, a digital readout, USB charging, and a retro-styled twin-pod meter, all of which provide a premium retro look. The BSA Gold Star 650 mileage stands at 25 kmpl.

The Gold Star 650 draws power from a 652-cc, 4-valve DOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The unit churns out a maximum power of 45 bhp at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 55 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are done by telescopic forks up front, and at the rear, the bike gets twin shock absorbers. For braking performance, the Gold Star 650 features 320 mm disc brakes up front and 255 mm disc brakes set up at the rear with dual-channel ABS. The BSA Gold Star 650 seat height is 780 mm.
