In the automotive industry, price hikes at the end of the calendar year are becoming more common. Audi India is one of the first car brands in India to announce a price hike before the new year. From the very first day of 2024, Audi cars will be more expensive, and the prices will surge by up to 2% in the Indian market. The company said that growing input and operating costs were the reasons behind the increased prices.

The Head of Audi India, Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon, spoke on the matter and said, “Due to rising supply-chain-related input and operational costs, we have affected a price correction across our model range, maintaining the brand’s premium price positioning. The price correction aims to ensure sustainable growth for Audi India and our dealer partners, and we will ensure that the price hike’s impact is as minimal as possible for customers.”

In the initial nine months of this year, the company reported an 88% surge in sales. At the end of September 2023, Audi India recorded sales of 5,530 units in the Indian market, noting that the company was witnessing splendid growth for its SUVs and its other high-performance vehicles, including electric vehicles.

Audi is currently selling several hit models in the Indian market, including the Q3 and Q5 Sportback, the Q7, and the A8 and A4 L. The German carmaker also offers models like the RS Q8, and it has the biggest EV portfolio, which incorporates the Q8 55 e-tron, Q8 50 e-tron, Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron, Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, RS e-tron, and e-tron GT.
