Audi has set up a new ultra-fast charging station in Mumbai. The new ‘e-tron hub’ is in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and will be completely powered by renewable energy with a roof-top solar panel contributing to peripheral electric requirements. The company has teamed up with ChargeZone to offer new charging points for up to five EVs.

The fast charger comes with a capacity of 450 kW and delivers power of 360 kW via a 500-amp liquid-cooled gun and five charging bays. The owners can charge their Audi e-tron at the new facility, which can be accessed via the ‘MyAudi Connect’ app. Owners can charge their cars for free until March 2024. Cars like the Audi Q8 55 e-tron can be charged 20 to 80 percent in 26 minutes. The new ultra-fast charging station also has a waiting area for car owners. The charging facility will also be open to electric vehicles from other brands.

The Head of Audi India, Balbir Singh Dhillon, said, “The inauguration of India's first, ultra-fast charging station by Audi India is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem for our valued customers. The ultra-fast charging ‘e-tron hub’ is located in the heart of Mumbai – Bandra Kurla Complex, which is accessible to a large number of electric vehicle owners. The rapid charging infrastructure is pivotal in alleviating concerns about range limitations, ensuring a seamless experience and considerably less charging time. We are not only establishing new benchmarks within the industry but also reinforcing our dedication to the future of sustainable mobility.”

Audi has teamed up with five companies so far to provide charging stations across various cities in the country. To provide easy charging solutions to buyers, the automaker is currently in partnership with Charge Zone, Aargo EV Smart, Relux Electric, Zeon Charging, and LionCharge. The German carmaker said that it has installed over 140 chargers in over 73 cities in the country. The brand has opened its charging stations to various dealerships and service centers as well.

Audi India offers six electric cars in the country, including the Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 55 e-tron, Audi RS e-tron GT, Audi e-tron GT, and Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron.
