For Indian bike lovers, Harley Davidson has a sweet surprise. It has just launched its new motorcycle, the Street Rod 750. Adapted from the very popular Street 750, the newer version is doused in typical Harley Davidson style, but only amplified.
The bike also borrows much from the drag-style bikes such as the V-Rod and the Night Rod. You can tell that the bike is built for speed – it’s seat has been designed to hold the driver in place under intense acceleration. It’s got a tall cowl around the round headlight with flat handlebars and bar-end mirrors.
The new Street Rod has the same 749cc, eight-valve, liquid-cooled, V-Twin, Revolution X engine that powers the Street 750 but with a new fuelling system.
With only a 5.0kg increase in weight, the Street Rod is expected to be much faster. The bike also sports shorter and wider exhausts for a pretty impressive motor soundtrack.
To provide a better cornering experience, Harley Davidson has replaced the tyres with radials. Which are now sized at 120/70 R17 at the front and 160/60 R17 at the rear. The upgraded rubber will ensure an overall better performance. Harley is offering ABS as standard on the Street Rod, which should really help increase safety to offset the boost in performance.
The bike shares more or less the same equipment with the Street 750. It maintains the same 13.1-litre teardrop-shaped steel fuel tank as well as steel fenders. The 3.5-inch single-pod instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer and a small digital multi-function display remain the same too.
The Street Rod is priced at ₹5.86 lakh. It will be available in three different colours - Olive Gold, Charcoal Denim and Vivid Black. The Street 750 is a tad less, priced between ₹4.91 lakh and ₹5.18 lakh but since the Street Rod has much more loaded specs, so we imagine it will more than make up for it.
