Tata Tiago XTA has been launched at a price tag of Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), India. With the new variant introduction, Tiago now has a total of 4 AMT options. The hatchback has been a success story in the Indian market since its launch back in 2016. To comply with the new stringent BS6 Emission Norms, Tata Tiago was launched with a new engine in early 2020. The same model was awarded a 4-Star Rating by Global NCAP making it one of the safest hatchbacks plying on the Indian road. In the lucrative Indian market, Tata Tiago competes against the likes of Ford Figo, Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. Earlier in September 2020, the hatchback hit a production milestone of 3 lakh units illustrating its wide popularity.

Tata Tiago XTA comes loaded with features like a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen system by Harman, support for Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster amongst others. It rides on a set of 15-inch alloy wheels. Safety equipment on-board include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking assist camera, driver, and passenger seatbelt reminder among the rest.

The car is powered by a BS6 compliant Revotron 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol engine. The motor delivers 85 bhp of maximum power output and 113Nm of peak torque. The hatchback comes equipped with two transmission options namely a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

“Fulfilling our brand promise of staying New Forever, we are constantly listening and gathering feedback from the market. The Tiago has received a tremendous market response from across regions. Furthermore, the automatic transmission (AT) segment in India is booming and the same has been proven in the sales of Tiago as well. Acknowledging the increasing preference for ATs we are excited to introduce the XTA version to the range and are confident that this new variant will not only give us a competitive edge in the mid-hatch segment but will also provide customers with accessible options to choose from at every price point”, commented Vivek Srivatsa, Head Marketing, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (PVBU), Tata Motors on this launch.
