Suzuki Motorcycle India has hiked the price of BS6 compliant Gixxer range for the first time since the launch on May 29 in the country. Originally launched at Rs 1.63 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi), the BS6 Suzuki Gixxer is now priced at Rs 1.65 Lakhs, thereby getting more premium by approx Rs 2041. The company has also increased the price of BS6 Gixxer 250SF, which was introduced at a sticker price of Rs 1.74 Lakhs earlier. The quarter-litre motorcycles take on the likes of Bajaj Dominar 250, Yamaha FZ25, Honda CBR250 and KTM Duke 250 in India.

The BS6 Suzuki Gixxer 250 is offered in a couple of paint schemes: Metallic Matte Silver/Metallic Matte Black (dual-tone) and Metallic Matte Black. Boasting of a full LED single-piece headlamp unit, the motorcycle comes with a sculpted fuel tank with new graphics. Some of the key features of the bike include an all digital instrument console, LED tail-lamp cluster, split seat, twin exhaust pipes, Single-piece tubular-type handlebar, alloy wheels and dual-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The company has equipped the 249cc engine with Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) technology which has been developed exclusively for the Indian market. On the other hand, the Gixxer SF 250 BS6 can also be availed in two single-tone color options: Metallic Mat Black No 2 and Metallic Mat Platinum Silver.

Mechanically, the motorcycle draws power from the 249cc single-cylinder fuel injection petrol engine. The engine generates maximum power output of 26bhp at 9300rpm and peak torque performance of 22.2Nm at 7300rpm. It is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. Meanwhile, in other news, the company has been working on a 250cc version of the Intruder motorcycle and recently, the exhaust system of the same was leaked on the internet through patent images. Suzuki had reportedly filed the application for a patent around a couple of years back in 2018. Though, presently the Japanese bike maker is extremely tight-lipped about any development regarding the Intruder 250. Stay tuned for more updates!
