Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the BS6 compliant Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 at starting prices of Rs 1.63 Lakhs and Rs 1.74 Lakhs, respectively in the country. In addition, the BS6 Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP Edition has been launched as well at Rs 1.75 Lakhs (All the prices are Ex. Showroom, Delhi). The BS6 Suzuki Gixxer duo can be booked at Suzuki premium dealerships. The company will start the dealer dispatch in coming week while deliveries are expected to begin by mid-June. For those asking, over 50 percent of Suzuki dealer network has resumed operations across India post lockdown.
The styling of the quarter-liter duo is inspired from European trends with a wide LED headlamp and newly designed all-digital instrument cluster. Suzuki Gixxer 250 BS6 will be available in two color options: Metallic Matte Black No 2 (single-tone) and Metallic Matte Platinum Silver/ Metallic Matte Black No 2 (dual-tone). On the other hand, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 BS6 can also be availed in two colors: Metallic Mat Black No 2 and Metallic Mat Platinum Silver. Suzuki GIXXER SF 250 MotoGP Edition BS6 will be exclusively offered in the Metallic Triton Blue paint shade. The trio uses the same engine which has been exclusively developed for India using the Suzuki Oil Cooling System (SOCS) technology.
The 249cc single-cylinder fuel injection petrol engine develops a top power of 26bhp at 9300rpm and peak torque of 22.2Nm at 7300rpm while linked to a 6-speed gearbox. The BS6 Gixxer 250 range will take on the likes of Bajaj Dominar 250, Yamaha FZ25, Honda CBR250 and KTM Duke 250 in the Indian market. Commenting on the launch Mr. Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “We are pleased to introduce the BS6 GIXXER SF 250/ 250 in the Indian market. Inspired by the legendary motorcycles: Hayabusa and GSX-R, GIXXER brand resonates performance, style, and sportiness in the country. With BS6 update the GIXXER 250 series engine will produce lesser emission with enhanced performance, making it even more desirable to own.”
