The world will get to see SsangYong’s touch-window system by the end of 2017. It claims to allow passengers to open and shut windows by simply touching the glass.
SsangYong, owned by Mahindra, says that this was one of the many new technologies suggested by its researchers and employees.
"The company will continue to develop next-generation products that will meet the needs of its customers while setting new trends by encouraging creative ideas and innovative research," said SsangYong boss Choi Jong-sik.
SsangYong claims to be the first, though other manufacturers have mentioned similar technology. Jaguar last year reported that it was working on the same tech but did not mention when it would come into production.
Starting with the all-new Rexton 4x4, SsangYong plans to launch three models internationally over the next three years. By 2020, it aims to launch electric versions of its models and is testing an electric Tivoli.
