Royal Enfield has launched the new Shotgun 650 motorcycle in the Indian market. The 650 motorcycle is available at a price of INR 359,430 (ex-showroom). The Shotgun 650 has strengthened the position of Royal Enfield in the middle-weight motorcycle segment. This segment has been witnessing increasing demand over the past few years.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is the fourth motorcycle from the company that comes with a 650-cc engine. The two-wheeler maker revealed the SG650 Concept bike at EICMA 2021. The automaker first revealed the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition in 2023 as the production variant of the SG650 prototype. Royal Enfield has now unveiled the Shotgun 650 motorcycle in flesh for the Indian two-wheeler market.

The Shotgun 650 is based on the Super Meteor 650 motorcycle, except for the design. It comes with a unique side panel, rear fender, and a chunky fuel tank with a 13.8-litre capacity. It has an aluminum cowl over the headlamp. The Shotgun 650 features a retro theme with a premium vibe. It gets a cruiser look, and it can be changed into a bobber by removing the retractable back seat.

The new motorcycle shares a lot of features with the Super Meteor 650, such as a taillight, indicators, headlight, switchgear cubes, clutch levers, and an adjustable brake. The Shotgun 650 rolls on a new, smaller 18-inch wheel at the front alongside the larger 17-inch wheel at the back. When it comes to the bike’s suspension duties, the length of the front fork has been reduced while maintaining the same suspension travel. The dual shock units now come longer, but with a similar travel as the Super Meteor 650. The braking hardware, on the other hand, remains the same in the new Shotgun 650.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is powered by a 648-cc air-oil-cooled parallel dual engine that is also equipped on other 650-cc motorcycles retailed by the company. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox, and it can churn out a peak power of 46 bhp and a max torque of 52 Nm. The 650 bike promises a mileage of about 22 kmpl.
