Maruti Suzuki will launch the highly-anticipated 2020 Ignis facelift on February 7th in the country. The company is launching several new vehicles at the grandest stage of Auto Expo 2020 and the Ignis facelift also happens to be one of them. The official brochure has already been leaked ahead of the launch and it reveals that the new iteration of the micro-SUV will be offered in four grades: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.
As evident, Maruti Ignis is retailed through the NEXA premium chain of showrooms in the country alongside Ciaz and Baleno. The company has carried out substantial cosmetic updates to the micro-SUV which also includes several new features. The spy-shots have revealed that the Maruti Ignis facelift 2020 will get a new S-Presso inspired front grille with chrome treatment in a squarish shape. There will be restyled bumpers with faux scuff plates at the front as well as the rear. The side profile is majorly retained from the current model with blacked-out B-pillar and ORVMs with integrated indicators, except for the newly designed alloys.
Maruti Ignis is equipped with dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), rear parking sensors, seat-belt reminder system and speed alert as standard safety feature across all the variants. Mechanically, the Ignis facelift 2020 will be powered by the BS6 compliant 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol engine which will generate power output of 82bhp at 6000rpm and peak torque of 113Nm at 4000rpm. The engine will be linked to a 5-speed manual transmission while an optional AMT gearbox will also be available with all the variants, except the entry-level Sigma variant.
