KTM 390 Adventure Launched at Rs. 2.99 Lakhs

Much awaited KTM released the 390 Adventure at Rs 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and reservations have already begun across the world. Over the past few months, there has been little unrevealed about the 390 Adventure, since it was first released at EICMA 2019. The India-spec 390 debuted last month at India Bike Week and there are a few aspects that separate it from the international-spec bike.

For starters, the 390 Adventure receives Metzeler Tourance tyres, with a 100/90-19 front tyre, and a 130/80-17 rear tyre. Suspension duties are performed by a USD 43 mm fork, unlike the international bike which offers adjustability for compression and rebound, this one is an unadjustable unit. Meanwhile, it is possible to alter the rear monoshock for pre-load and rebound. This configuration also provides more movement relative to the nude 390 Duke-170mm/177 mm (front / rear) vs the 142mm/150 mm. It was also fitted as usual by KTM with switchable traction control and a bi-directional quickshifter.

The rest of the bike is essentially the same as the one sold international markets. It uses the same 373.2cc, single-cylinder engine from the 390 Duke, with peak outputs of 44hp produced at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of torque coming in at 7,000rpm. The KTM 390 Adventure is the manufacturer’s first BS6-compliant motorcycle, and the rest of the range will follow suit soon.

At Rs 2.99 lakh, the 390 Adventure costs Rs 51,000 more than its naked sibling, but is well under its most direct rivals – the BMW G 310 GS (Rs 3.49 lakh) and the Kawasaki Versys X 300 (Rs 4.69 lakh).
