KTM India, in a surprising move, has slashed the price of the 250 Adventure by Rs 25,000 in the country. After the price cut, KTM 250 Adventure price is Rs 2.30 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) which is merely Rs 1,276 more than the 250 Duke. Earlier, the motorcycle used to attract a sticker price of Rs 2.55 Lakhs in the Indian market. It has been learnt from the KTM dealers in various cities that the price cut is for a limited time and it will be valid only till August 31, 2021. The 250 Adventure rivals Royal Enfield Himalayan and BMW GS 310 in India.
As per a recent circular issued by Bajaj Auto to its KTM dealer partners, the company is intending to migrate the buyers of Duke 200 and Duke 250 towards the 250 Adventure through this price cut. It is being believed that perhaps Bajaj has finally been successful in bringing down the production costs and hence, it has decided to pass the benefits directly to the customer by reducing the price. It is also known that KTM 250 Adventure is not raking in desired sales numbers for the company and therefore, it might also be one of the reasons for Bajaj to announce a drop in price. Whatever might be the exact reason behind this but it has certainly made the 250 Adventure a value-for-money product.
If we look at the recent market trend in the 250cc segment of motorcycles in the Indian market, almost every product has received a massive dip in price. A few days back, Yamaha FZ 25 price was dropped by Rs 20,000. Furthermore, Bajaj Dominar 250 became cheaper by Rs 16,500 earlier this month. Besides the reduction in price, KTM 250 Adventure has not witnessed any cosmetic or mechanical update. It carries the same 248.8cc single-cylinder petrol engine which also does duties to the 250 Duke. The engine churns out top power of 29.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and peak torque of 24 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The bike is offered with a dual-channel ABS as standard safety feature while it misses out on the bi-directional quick shifter feature.
