Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd has launched the CB500X at Rs 6.87 Lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country. Besides these, the bookings for the bike have begun at Honda’s premium big bike dealerships – BigWing Topline & BigWing.

The new CB500X takes design inspiration from the legendary Africa Twin. The full-LED headlamp and tail-lamp give the bike an aggressive outlook. It also gets a tall windscreen. The negative display LCD meter shows information like gear position indicator, ABS indicator, engine temperature indicator, and other basic information. The feature highlights include Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) theft-deterrent and ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) technology.

“Driven by the passion of fun riders in India and further strengthening our offerings in the mid-size premium motorcycle segment, CB500X will entice adventure enthusiasts who believe in exploring unconventional trails. This machine serves as a companion for city rides and is beast on unraveled paths. The parallel twin-cylinder engine offers easy-to-access power and plenty of torque. Together with tough adventure styling, long-travel suspension, a tall windscreen and more, CB500X invites you to Live Unlike the Others,” as commented by Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.

Mechanically, the 2021 CB500X is powered by a 471cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that churns out a maximum power of 47.5 bhp at 8500rpm and a peak torque of 43.2 Nm at 6500rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist/slipper clutch.

The new bike sits on a diamond-shaped steel-tube mainframe. Suspension duties are taken care of by a conventional long-stroke 41mm upfront and Honda Pro-link with 9-stage spring preload adjustment towards the rear. In terms of the brakes, the bike features a 310mm disc at the front and a 240mm drilled petal-style disc at the rear coupled with double-channel ABS. The new CB500X is offered in two color options namely Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
