Harley-Davidson X440 deliveries to begin from October 15, 2023

Hero MotoCorp is the world’s biggest manufacturer of scooters and motorcycles. The Harley-Davidson X440 is the first co-developed motorcycle by Hero MotoCorp. On the auspicious first day of the Navratri festival, which is October 15, 2023, Hero MotoCorp will start off the deliveries of the new Harley-Davidson X440. Hero MotoCorp’s manufacturing facility is in Neemrana, Rajasthan, and the Harley-Davidson X440 is currently in the manufacturing process under a partnership with the American motorcycle brand. Test rides for pre-booked customers have been organized by the company since September 1, 2023.

Customers can place their orders at all Harley-Davidson dealerships, as bookings for the new Harley-Davidson X440 will reopen on October 16, 2023. The buyers can also book the motorcycle online.

Niranjan Gupta, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hero MotoCorp, stated that “the Harley-Davidson X440 keeps on creating thrills across the country. While the manufacturing process is in full swing at our Neemrana facility, many of our pre-booked customers have benefited from the opportunity to test ride the motorcycle. We are all geared up to add a lot of festive cheer by commencing deliveries of the Harley-Davidson X440 to our customers on the first day of Navratri. This is just the starting point in our winning the premium journey.”

3 Variants of Harley-Davidson X440

Three variants of the Harley-Davidson X440 are currently available on the market, with prices starting from INR 2,39,500 for the base denim variant, INR 2,79,500 for the top-spec S variant, and INR 2,59,500 for the Vivid variant. The X440 was introduced in July 2023, and it already had over 25,000 bookings in just one month. The company made a statement that to provide orders to the first set of customers, they had to close the online booking window for a while.

The Harley-Davidson X440 is powered by a 440cc, two-valve engine that produces 38 Nm at 4,000 rpm and 27 bhp at 6,000 rpm. The design of the X440 includes a neo-retro roadster design along with a displayed steel trellis frame. The two-valve engine has a flat torque curve, with almost 90 percent of its peak torque contributing from as low as 2,000 rpm. The engine is equipped with a slip-and-assist clutch and a six-speed gearbox. The motorbike comes with 18-inch wheels, suspended from double gas-charged rear shocks, and a 43 mm upside-down fork. The Harley-Davidson X440 will compete with bikes like the Jawa, Triumph Speed 400, Yezdi Roadster, and Royal Enfield 350s, and the target market for the Harley-Davidson X440 is the high-volume Indian market.
