This year, Auto Expo will witness a handful of new players including China’s FAW Haima who has recently confirmed its entry along with other well-known Chinese firms. Haima Automobile, based out of Haikou City in Hainan Province in China was founded in 1988. Originally Haima sold rebadged models of Mazda in China. After that, the company was taken over by Chinese state-owned, First Automobile Works (FAW Group).

Although Haima has yet not revealed the name of models, they will showcase at the Auto Expo 2020. But according to a media report, Haima Automobile has recently started developing its own range of SUVs, MPVs and electrified vehicles that are based on the Haima Global Architecture platform. The company has recently unveiled the Haima 8S mid-size SUV and the 7X MPV in China. Along with this, they also deal in the electric vehicle category that includes the Aishang 360 Hatchback, E3 midsize sedan, E5 SUV and E7 MPV.

For their India operations, Haima has teamed up with Bird Electric, a subsidiary of the Bird Group that deals with BMW and Mini vehicles. So if media reports are to be believed then there is an expectation of a range of electric vehicles to be showcased by Haima Automobiles at the Delhi Auto Expo. For the meanwhile, Haima is focusing on using this opportunity to gauge interest and gain valuable feedback from the Indian audience visiting the week-long exhibition
