Ferrari has unveiled the 296 Challenge race car. The new Ferrari will set its foot in the Ferrari Challenge in its 2024 season at the Mugello Circuit over the course of Finali Mondiali. The Ferrari 296 Challenge is based on the 296 GTB. The new Ferrari 296 is the first car in the Ferrari Challenge lineup to boast a V6 engine. Previous models of Ferrari were powered by V8 engines. This is the ninth model in the Ferrari Challenge series, taking inspiration from the 296 GTB.

The Ferrari 296 Challenge race car will not retain the hybrid system from the 296 GTB, and it will have a higher power output of 690 bhp. The new Ferrari is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine. The V6 engine is mated to a seven-speed F1 DCT gearbox for transmission duties.

When the spoiler is fixed at its maximum angle of attack, the 2024 Ferrari 296 Challenge race car can produce 870 kg of downforce at a speed of 250 kmph. In comparison to the 488 Challenge Evo, the 296 Challenge marks an 18% rise in downforce because of its top speed. Over the rear axle, the downforce is produced by the fixed spoiler, and the angle can also be rearranged to seven different positions.
